On March 31, 2023, Davido released his fourth album ‘Timeless’. The highly anticipated album has broken multiple streaming records in Nigeria in a bold statement of Davido’s status as the biggest artist on the continent.
On April 17, 2023, Davido revealed in a press conference that he will be releasing a deluxe new album.
In the press conference held to brief the media on the plans ahead of Davido’s ‘The Timeless Concert’ set for April 23, Davido answered questions from Pulse Nigerian music journalist Adeayo Adebiyi on his deluxe album.
Davido stated that the album is doing fantastically well and he wants to take his time to market the album before giving fans the deluxe.
“The deluxe is going to come out. People like all the songs on the album so we are figuring out how to promote all the songs on the original ‘Timeless’ before moving to the deluxe.”
In the press conference, Davido also spoke about his forthcoming concert at the Tafawa Balewa Square and he told fans to expect an unforgettable experience.
Davido’s ‘Timeless’ has become Afrobeats’ record holder for the first week of streams across all major streaming platforms in Nigeria.
The album broke the first week’s records on Apple Music Nigeria, Spotify Nigeria, Boomplay, and YouTube. It also recorded the most first stream weeks in the history of Audiomack while also breaking the first-week streams of any African album on Apple Music.
