Two farmers have again been ambushed and killed by Gunmen Suspected to be terrorists in Hos Village, on the Express road leading in and out of Jos in Riyom local Government area of Plateau State.
The ambush which occured on Tuesday night at about 10pm, happened few metres away from Sector 6 Headquarters of the Special Taskforce Operation Safe Haven, Riyom.
A community Leader, Solomon Dalyop, who confirmed the incident to AIT said they were in their homes when they heard Gunshots about 10pm and on reaching the scene, they discovered Two of their members were ambushed and killed.
According to Dalyop, the situation which generated tension, led to a protest by women who attempted blocking the military checkpoint on the Express road leading in and out of Jos from Riyom.
Before the attack, an alarm was raised which alleged that
Fulani militias rose up from a meeting at Mahanga at about 4:30pm on Tuesday and resolved to invade Kombun & Nboi of Mangu LGA, Baten, Tashek, Wereng-Camp, of Riyom LGA, Fan axis of Barkin Ladi LGA on that same Tuesday night of 2/5/2023.
The Plateau State Police Command is yet to confirm the attack as at the time of filling in this report.
