FG, organized labor meeting deadlocked, to reconvene

The meeting between the organised labour and representatives of the Federal Government over the removal of fuel subsidy has ended in a deadlock.

 

Arising from the meeting held at the State house Abuja, Representatives of both parties told state house correspondents that talks is still ongoing on the matter and they are yet to reach and agreement.

 

The labour union is led by President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero and his Trade Union Congress, TUC, counterpart, Festus Osifo.

 

In attendance are the former President of NLC and former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, the State House Permanent Secretary, Tijjani Umar, the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Foldable Yemi-Esan, the Group Chief Executive Officer, of the NNPCL, Mele Kyari among others.

 

The meeting is coming on the heels of resurfacing queues at petrol stations following the announcement of removal of subsidy, and hike in pump prices.

 

The announcement by President Bola Tinubu during his inauguration speech was condemned by the organised labour.
