Osun State Police Command, have confirmed the death of a 100 level student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Treasure Salako
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the story to journalists in Osogbo, hinted that the Homicides detectives of the SCIID have began investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the student.
She said the cause of the death was yet to be ascertained as of press time, adding that a team of detectives are already working round the clock to unravel the cause.
The deceased, Treasure Salako. ,a 100 Level female student from the Department of Entrepreneur, has been declared missing.
Her body was later found on Wednesday, June 14, in an uncompleted building in Lagere area of Ile-Ife.
Beside her was found a bottle of sniper,suspected to have been used.
The PPRO said It was unclear if the student actually took her own life willingly or it was a case of planned assassination or rituals.
Also confirming the incidence In a press release by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju said the alleged suicide of the promising 100 level student of the institution is very unfortunate and saddened the university community.
He stated that although it happened outside campus, the institution was not happy that it could lose such a person under such a circumstance.
Abiodun appeal to Nigerians to be their brothers’ keepers, stressing that the filler they are getting was that she has suffered depression and people around her knew all this and they ought to have referred her to someone elderly or someone who could be of help to her on psyco-emotional issues.
