No conversation with CJN over presidential election litigation-APC

The All Progressives Congress says there was no telephone conversation between President Tinubu and the Chief Justice of Nigeria as regards the ongoing litigation over the 2023 presidential election.

 

A tweet authored by one Jackson Ude, alleged that President Tinubu was in a telephone discussion with the CJN where he purportedly told the President and the APC to prepare for a Presidential election.

 

The APC in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, berated those responsible for the “disturbing and disgraceful” fabrication of falsehood on a matter of serious National importance that is actively under review by the Presidential Elections Petitions Court (PEPC).

 

The APC pleaded that the PEPC should be afforded the time and space to perform its important constitutional and statutory duties of adjudicating and delivering a verdict in the matter without needlessly calling the integrity of the judges into question.

 

Morka, in the statement, noted that falsehood and conjecture only aim to inflame political passions, create doubt and panic, and preemptively undermine the verdicts of the courts.
