An Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Samuel Obasanaya, attached to Otoro Agbon divisional police headquarters in Ethiope East local government area of Delta state has been reportedly shot dead by suspected gunmen.
According to local sources, the ugly incident occured early hours of Friday when two suspected gunmen on a motorcycle had arrived at the entrance of the station and shot sporadically at the policemen mounting security.
Two Policemen sustained gun shot injuries during the attack and were rushed to the general hospital where the victim was pronounced dead by doctors while the second victim in critical condition.
Confirming the incident, the state police command public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said a team of Policemen and sister security agencies have launched a raid on Isiokolo, kokori and other surrounding towns in the area to arrest the perpetrators of the attack.
