The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu, has initiated the relocation of his official office from the Government House premises.

His new office can now be found at No. 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue, in close proximity to the Government House.

Emerging reports disclose that the new office is currently undergoing renovations, which are yet to be completed.

This development comes on the heels of an intriguing sequence of events that unfolded last week when Shuaibu withdrew a lawsuit he had filed at the Federal High Court. This legal action was intended to thwart alleged plans by the state’s incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki, to unseat him from his position.

The motivation behind Shuaibu’s decision to relocate his office remains unclear at this time. However, insiders have disclosed that the deputy governor has cited the incomplete renovation work as a factor in this move.

It is important to recall that Shuaibu had previously filed a lawsuit, asserting that Governor Obaseki was orchestrating his removal from office through an impeachment process. The surprising withdrawal of this lawsuit occurred on September 7, 2023.
