Bauchi Police said he has arrested one Atim Emmanuel 23 years old three Hundred level students of Abubakar Tafawa balewa University Bauchi in possession of a fire arm and cartridge.
According to press release issued by the command public relations officer Ahmed Wakili, the suspect was arrested with a locally made revolver pistol and a cartridge while coming out of the University campus.
According to the statement, during interrogation, the suspect confessed that he got the fire arm from one Zadog who leased it to him for two academic semesters at the rate of twelve thousand Naira (N12,000,00).
The suspect according to the police, confess that he acquired the fire arm for his protection and security from criminals when attack.
The arrest of the suspect is coming at the time the University is bedeviled with series of attacks Which as a result one person was recently killed leading to a protest that prompted the University management to closed down the University for next year as investigation is currently ongoing to unravel the those who are behind the crimes.
The public relations officer said the commissioner of police Auwal Musa has directed that the suspect be transferred to the state criminal investigation for discrete investigation, to determine and confirm whether he has killed anyone with it after which he will be charged to court.
