Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 54th goal of the calendar year as Al-Nassr came from behind to beat Al-Taawoun 4-1 in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo finishes 2023 as the world’s top goal scorer for that calendar year, two goals ahead of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.
Ronaldo’s goal came in the second minute of added time to cap a comeback victory for second placed Al-Nassr, with the other goals coming from Marcelo Brozovic, Aymeric Laporte and Otavio, after Al-Taawoun had taken an early lead through a penalty rebound from Aschraf El Mahdioui.
Al Nassr close the gap to seven points behind unbeaten leaders Al-Hilal at the top of the Saudi Pro League.
