In a strategic move aimed at bolstering administrative efficiency and promoting effective service delivery, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State inaugurated 16 permanent secretaries and two tutors-general on Wednesday in Akure. This decision, approved by Governor Aiyedatiwa on March 5, underscores his administration’s commitment to enhancing governance and fostering transparency within the public service sector.

Of the 16 permanent secretaries inaugurated, 14 were selected from the state’s main civil service, while the remaining two were drawn from the local government service. Addressing the newly appointed officials, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of aligning with his administration’s mission to promote efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public service delivery.

“As accounting officers, you are tasked with providing the necessary administrative leadership in your respective ministries, departments, or agencies to ensure prompt and effective service delivery, free from unnecessary bureaucracy,” stated Governor Aiyedatiwa.

He further urged the appointees to collaborate closely with their political heads to advance the goals of his administration, emphasizing the doctrine of One Administration as a guiding principle.

Governor Aiyedatiwa stressed the need for the newly appointed officials to add value to his administration and justify their appointments through exemplary performance and dedication to duty.

NAN reports that Governor Aiyedatiwa disclosed plans to strengthen staffing in critical sectors such as health and education, announcing the recruitment of at least 2,000 new teachers within the current year. This initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to improving public service delivery and enhancing the quality of education in the state.

Acknowledging the track records of the appointees, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence that their new positions would inspire them to greater productivity in fulfilling their responsibilities.
