Paris 2024 Olympics: Sports Minister supports athletes, appreciates AFN at national trials.

The Minister of Sports Development, John Owan Enoh, has stressed the importance and imperative of preparing the nation’s athletes for the upcoming Olympics Games in Paris.

Speaking in Benin City Edo State to support athletes during the All Nigeria Athletics Championships, the 2024 National Trials, Enoh expressed his admiration for the dedication and performance of the athletes, noting that many have achieved personal bests and earned qualifications for the Olympics.

Enoh who said track and field holds enormous potential for Nigeria at the Olympics thanked the leadership of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria AFN, and assured coaches as well as the superstar athletes who keep breaking barriers to emerge as winners stating that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is solidly behind them.

A statement by Diana Mary Nsan, Special Adviser, Media to the ministerial said his presence in Benin City underscores the importance of the National Trials and the government’s dedication to fostering a supportive environment for Nigerian athletes as they prepare to compete on the global stage.

The 2024 Olympic Games will be held in Paris from Friday, Jul. 26 to Sunday, 11th of August, 2024.
