Lagos uncovers styrofoam warehouse in Idumota

The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) says it has seized a chunk of styrofoam from a warehouse in the Idumota area.

On January 21, the Lagos state government announced a ban on the usage and distribution of styrofoam and other single-use plastics across the state.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Tokunbo Wahab, Lagos state commissioner for environment and water resources, said operatives from the ministry took the styrofoam packs for incineration.

Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) discovered a styrofoam packs warehouse in Idumota,” the post reads.

“The product has been confiscated and taken to the Taskforce Office for incineration.”
