Nasarawa developer escapes death over missing manhood allegation

A 35-year-old developer, Francis Attah, narrowly escaped being lynched at the new Karshi area of Nasarawa State after he was accused of being responsible for the disappearance of the manhood of one Jerry Danladi.

Attah was said to have gone to a steel fabrication shop to purchase a building material when the incident occurred.

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Friday, he said the shop attendant, identified as Jerry, directed him to another shop where he could get the building material as it was unavailable in his store.

He said he was about to leave his store when Jerry raised the alarm that his manhood had disappeared.

He said, “On Wednesday, I was on my way to a construction site where I work. Some of my workers needed material to work with which I promised to come along with. I went to a steel fabrication shop and parked to inquire if he had the rage.

“The person at the shop who attended to me said he did not have it but pointed to a location where I could get it. I appreciated him and was about to drive off when he called on other residents saying, “E don happen”. I did not know what he meant and was not sure if he was referring to me until they started hitting my car and he pointed at me.”

Attah said he tried to calm the mob but his efforts proved abortive.

According to him, he had been beaten to a pulp when a passerby out of curiosity requested to see the alleged missing organ.

He added that Jerry immediately claimed his manhood had been restored.

Attah said, “I had to come down and try to show them my ID card but no one was interested in listening to me. I was beaten and almost lynched. God just used someone to rescue me. The man asked to see his manhood and he immediately said it had been restored. He has been arrested.”

When contacted by our correspondent, the Nasarawa State Police Command spokesperson, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident.

Nansel said the suspect had been arrested and an investigation was on the matter.

The police boss lamented the prevalence of the incidents in the state, noting that no fewer than 50 cases had been recorded.

He said, “We have recorded over 50 cases of genital disappearance in the state of our own since July. The matter died down in August but it is on the rise again. But do you know none of the cases has been proven? Immediately they got to our stations they would claim their manhood had been restored. They will just raise and mob the person being accused. We have charged many of them to court.”
