Some unidentified gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have attacked the convoy of Martin Orim, the Chief of Staff to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State.Chief of Staff,Martin Orim along Calabar-Biase- Ugep Highway on Sunday.
The attack took place along the Calabar-Biase-Ugep Highway on Sunday. The Akampa- Biase -Ugep axis of the road has become a hotspot for kidnapping of late with travelers often abducted by dangerous arm-weilding criminals.
Orim was said to be returning to Calabar from Obudu after attending an official when the attack occurred.
Orim who confirmed the incident to journalists said nobody was hurt in the incident but for the damage to some of the vehicles in the convoy.
The incident is the second high profile attack in the last two weeks after the convoy of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party and former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani, was also attacked around the same area a few days ago.
