Lagos issues 48-hour notice to Oyingbo market over dirt

The Lagos Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has issued a 48-hour abatement notice to Oyingbo market executives over indiscriminate waste disposal and other environmental infractions.

This was disclosed via the X handle of commissioner, Tokunbo Wahab, on Friday. 

Wahab wrote: “Lagos State government through the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources served 48 hours abatement notice to Oyingbo market executives over indiscriminate waste disposal and other environmental infractions.”

The notice titled “Abatement Of Nuisance Notice Under Environmental Sanitation Law 2001” reads in part: “Inspection carried out under the above-mentioned Law on tenement situated at Oyingbo Market, within Lagos State on 26/06/24 has revealed that you have failed to keep your tenement and its surrounding free from filth, rubbish, refuse or waste of all description and indiscriminate refuse disposal”
