PCRC/NIDCOM partner on establishement of diaspora offices

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has commenced the establishment of its PCRC offices in the UK, Canada, and Saudi Arabia, respectively.

 

National Chairman of PCRC, Ibrahim Mogaji, stated this during a visit to The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa in Abuja.

 

Mogaji said the current administration of the PCRC has made tremendous successes within six months of its inauguration, with the support of the Inspector General of Police, one of which is the establishment of PCRC UK, Canada and Saudi Arabia respectively.

 

He further mentioned that the organisation is saddled with the duties of representing members of the public works to strengthen the relationship between the police and the communities they serve, with a focus on enhancing security and reducing crime. And also to give the Nigerians in the Diaspora access to any information pertaining to the Police.

 

The National Chairman thereby seeks a partnership with the Nigerians in Diaspora commission so as to engage with Nigerian diaspora communities around the world to promote unity, collaboration, and support for development initiatives in Nigeria.

 

PCRC Delegation commended NIDCOM Boss for her strides so far and, most importantly, her facilitation of the evacuation of stranded Diaspora Nigerians in Sudan.

 

Chairman/CEO, NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, represented by the secretary to the Commission Sule Yakubu Bassi applauded the initiative.

 

He commended the establishment of the group, noting that it is achieving what it is set out to do.

 

Bassi mentioned that NiDCOM, as one of the accessible government agencies, is ready to collaborate with the PCRC to fulfil its mandate.

 

He also emphasised the need for Nigerians in the Diaspora to register on the NiDCOM Diaspora portal database for ease of demographic imperatives.

 

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) was established 39 years ago, precisely May 8,1984.
