The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Alex Otti of the Labour Party as winner of the Abia State governorship election.
The election’s Returning Officer, Professor Nnenna Oti, while declaring the result on Wednesday evening, said Otti scored a total of 175,467 votes to emerge the winner of the election. His closest rival, Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party scored a total of 88, 529 votes to come second.
With the development, the Labour Party has now won its first major victory in the 2023 elections.
