A Former Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye has emerged winner of the Peoples Democratic Partyโs Governorship primary election for the November eleventh election in Kogi State.
Dino scored three hundred and thirteen votes to defeat nine other candidates who participated in the April 16th primaries in Lokoja.
The contest was between ten aspirants cutting across the three senatorial districts, a process described as orderly and peaceful.
Having scored the highest number of valid votes, the electiin’s Returning officer, Ahmed Makarfi, declared Dino Melaye winner.
Dino Melaye, in his acceptance speech, said he is on a rescue mission to bring dividends of democracy to the citizens of Kogi state.
The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP also had its primary election in Lokoja where Musa Mubarak emerged winner after polling six hundred and seven votes to defeat other contestants.
