Dr Muyi Aina has assumed duty as Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).
He took over from Dr Faisal Shuaibu at the agency’s headquarters on Monday in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that President Bola Tinubu approved Aina’s appointment in agencies under Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
He commended the leadership style of his predecessor and acknowledged his invaluable contributions to the nation’s healthcare sector.
The new NPHCDA boss assured staff and requested for their support and cooperation.
The former chief executive officer expressed gratitude to the agency’s staff for their support throughout his seven-year tenure and urged them to extend same to the new executive officer.
Dr Aina is a globally renowned public health leader with a Masters in Public Health degree from Harvard University (U.S.A) and a Doctorate degree from Johns Hopkins University (U.S.A), following his first medical certification at the University of Ilorin.
He also holds a certificate in vaccine science and policy from Johns Hopkins University, among others.
