A special meeting of the Federal Executive Council is currently holding at the council chambers of the State House in Abuja.
The meeting is being chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari who is still in London for medical reasons.
The special ECF meeting is to enable the Buhari led administration cover grounds as it races against time to handover to a new goverment on May 29, 2023.
The meeting is expected to deliberate on over 30 memos emanating from various ministries and agencies of government.
In attendance are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (Rtd), Head of the civil service of the Federation Folashade Yemi-Esan Esan.
Others are the Minister of State for Labour and employment Festus Keyamo, Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, Ministers of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar, Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, among others.
President Muhammadu is expected to return to Nigeria on Tuesday to chair the regular Wednesday’s FEC meeting.
Buhari condoles with renowned scholar , Ralph Akinfeleye over wife’s death
President Muhammadu Buhari has prayed for God’s comfort for Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye and family over the death of his wife of many years, Carol Anike Akinfeleye.
A statement from Buhari’s media office condoled with family, friends and associates of Mrs Akinfeleye, whose good work he says will continue to speak, particularly about the many lives she touched with her trademark charity, kindness and love.
The president prayed for strength and direction for the family as they prepare for the final rites of the deceased, who was the Yeye Gbekonuyi of Idanre Kingdom and a former school Principal and Director of Education in Lagos State.
President Buhari prayed that God will grant the departed wife and mother a peaceful rest.
