2023 Election: Natasha Rejects Outcome Of Polls

The People’s Democratic Party’s Senatorial candidate for Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti- Uduaghan has rejected the result of Saturday’s election and is seeking for a recount of the votes.

 

 

Natasha had taken an early lead in the counts against her closest challenger Abubakar Ohenre of the APC with over 4,000 votes from 4 local government areas.

 

She is now alleging that Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had compromised by reducing her votes to 900 making it in favor of the APC candidate.

 

She also has accused the state government of disrupting the process of the election by cutting off link roaf to the senatorial district to make it kmpossible for INEC and voters to access the polling units, a development the state government has denied.

 

Protests have since erupted in parts of Okene and other places since the announcement of the results with youths blocking major roads and calling on INEC to reverse the decision.

 

Natasha wants total cancellation of votes in Okene Local Government Area and a rerun in Ajaokuta LGA.
