The Nasarawa State Govenorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia has nullified the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC),and declared David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),as the duly elected governor of the state.
The Tribunal in its Judgment delivered virtually on Monday held that the petitioners duly proved their petition before the court.
Ombugadu and PDP had approached the Tribunal contending amongst others that his actual votes in the March 18, 2023 election were unjustifiably reduced while those belonging to Sule and the APC were increased to aid his victory particularly at Gayam and Chiroma Wards in Lafia Local Government Area.
The Tribunal, led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, ordered that the Certificate of Return issued to Sule be withdrawn and issued to David Ombugadu as the validly elected Governor of the Northcentral state.
