No more fuel subsidy, Kyari insists

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, (NNPCL), has addressed the ongoing debate about fuel subsidy in Nigeria insisting that there is no more subsidy.

 

The NNPCL boss while speaking with State House correspondents after a meeting with presidnet Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said the organisation has been transparent in its operations and that the Corporation is not incurring subsidy costs.

 

He said fuel prices in Nigeria are now determined by market forces and global oil prices, insisting that there is no financial burden placed on the government or taxpayers as a result of fuel subsidy.

 

Kyari also reassured the public that there’s enough product supply

and dismissed any fear arising from queues springing up at petrol stations in some cities like Lagos.

 

He also said efforts are also actively pursued to address critical matters related to access to foreign exchange by marketers.
