Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and Department of State Security on Monday sealed up the State Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akure, Ondo State. The action is suspected to be a way to prevent a planned protest by youths of the party to demand for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s whereabouts following his absence from the state since April, 2023.
The security operatives in their numbers stormed the PDP Office as early as 6am preventing members of staff from gaining access into the complex.
However after about an hour some of the staff members of the party were allowed into the office. Governor Akereolu has been away from the state since April this year following a health challenge.
