Tinubu's government committed to Niger-Delta development -VP

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to the comprehensive development of the Niger Delta and other regions of Nigeria.

Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, conveyed this message in a statement on Wednesday.

Representing President Tinubu at the grand finale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial rally in Bayelsa, Shettima said the state remains integral to the visions and developmental focus of the Tinubu-led administration.

He stated, “My Principal, our President, is a man filled with vision, willpower, and total commitment to the Nigerian project. He is unwavering and in a rush to ensure speedy development of the Niger Delta and all other parts of the country.”

Shettima highlighted that plans for the region’s development, including infrastructure, technological advancements, education, and harnessing of resources, have been mapped out and are gradually being implemented.

He urged Bayelsans to rally behind Timipre Sylva, the APC candidate, saying Sylva is known for his tenacity, excellence. He also stressed the need for Bayelsa State to align with the government at the centre.

The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, praised Sylva as a refined technocrat and politician committed to transforming the political, economic, and developmental landscape of the state.

Sylva, pledging transparent resource utilisation if elected, stated that his blueprint is aimed at revamping Bayelsa’s fortunes and ensure transformation in every part of the state. He promised optimal indigenes’ and community participation in governance.

Vice President Shettima, accompanied by Sylva and other dignitaries, paid homage to the Chairman of Bayelsa Traditional Rulers’ Council, King Bubaraye Dakolo, upon arrival in the state. His entourage included the APC National Secretary, Jibola Bashiru; Gov Mai Mala Buni of Yobe; Gov Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State; APC Deputy National Chairman, Bukar Dalori; Minister of Transportation, Saidu Alkali, and former Gov Rochas Okorocha of Imo State.
