Governor Sanwo-Olu appoints Bakare-Oki Olalekan as acting general manager of LASTMA

In a bid to enhance performance and ensure effective traffic management on Lagos roads, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has swiftly approved the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan as the Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

 

The announcement, conveyed through a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Olawale Musa, emphasized the need for improved efficiency, the eradication of staff misdemeanors, and the overall enhancement of traffic management within the state.

 

Having joined the Lagos State Public Service on April 25, 2000, Bakare-Oki Olalekan has climbed the ranks to the position of Deputy Director, Logistics and Engineering Department of LASTMA. With a Masters Degree in Transportation Planning and Management from the University of Lagos, he brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

 

The Permanent Secretary urged the newly appointed General Manager to leverage his expertise, justifying Governor Sanwo-Olu’s confidence in the appointment by steering LASTMA to greater heights. Gratitude was also expressed to the outgoing General Manager, Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, for his dedicated service to the state.
