Nigerian Air Force refutes accidental bombing allegations in Kaduna State

In a swift response to circulating claims, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) categorically denied allegations that its aircraft accidentally bombed villagers in Kaduna State. Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, issued a statement on Monday in Abuja, dismissing the report.

Gabkwet clarified that NAF had not conducted any air operations within Kaduna State and its environs in the last 24 hours. He emphasized that the Nigerian Air Force is not the sole organization employing combat armed drones in the North Western region of Nigeria.

In his statement, Gabkwet addressed the misinformation, stating, “The news making the rounds alleging that Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft accidentally killed innocent civilians in Kaduna is false. It is also important to ensure that due diligence is always exhausted by the media before going to press with unverified and unconfirmed reports.”

The Nigerian Air Force’s swift and unequivocal response aims to correct any misconceptions and prevent the spread of inaccurate information. As investigations into the source of the allegations continue, the NAF stresses the importance of media outlets exercising caution and verifying information before disseminating it to the public.
