The President, expressing his deep concern for the victims and their families, made it clear that the government would spare no effort in uncovering the truth behind the bombardments. He emphasized that anyone found culpable of dropping bombs on Tudun Biri would be punished according to the law.

Representing the President, Vice President Kashim Shettima visited the victims at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital on December 7, 2023. Shettima conveyed the gravity of the situation, stating, “All measures will be taken to ensure that future occurrences are averted. The government will go to the root of the issue, and anyone found culpable will be punished accordingly.”

Acknowledging the immediate needs of the affected community, Shettima disclosed that the victims would be taken care of under President Tinubu’s Fulako initiative. He outlined the government’s commitment to rebuilding Tudun Biri as the first community under this initiative.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent us to commiserate with the people of Kaduna over the tragic incident. The caliber of people that are here with me is a testimony to how deeply touched the President was by the incident,” Shettima stated.

Highlighting the President’s personal involvement, Shettima assured the people and government of Kaduna State that comprehensive measures would be taken to protect and preserve the interests of the nation. The Fulako Initiative, set to commence this month, aims to address the immediate needs of the victims and facilitate the reconstruction of Tudun Biri, signaling a commitment to healing and restoration.

“The victims will be well taken care of under the Fulako Initiative, which will commence this month, and this community will be the first to be rebuilt in the northwest zone,” Shettima affirmed.

In a proactive move, Shettima reassured the community that investigations into the incident had already begun, following the President’s directives. This commitment to a swift and thorough inquiry aims to prevent a recurrence of such a tragic event, providing the community with assurance and hope for justice.
