10th Senate will prioritise people centred laws- Akpabio

The President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio has pledged to ensure that the 10th National Assembly under his leadership, enacts laws that will benefit and positively impact the lives of Nigerians.

 

 

Akpabio said this on Saturday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Capital at the grand reception organised to mark his 61st birthday.

 

 

He stressed that the senate will work closely with the House of Representatives to rejig and amend obsolete laws of the country to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the populace.

 

 

On the 2024 budget, Akpabio re-echoed the commitment of the lawmakers to be transparent and properly scrutinise the financial estimate.

 

He also spoke of plans to lead a delegation of senators to the Government of Kaduna State to commiserate with the people over the accidental bombing by the Nigerian Army in Tundun Biri Village in Igabi Local Government Area of the state which left several people dead.

 

 

The gathering therafter observed a minute silence in honour of those who lost their lives in the bombing and prayed for the repose of.theor souls.
