Dispute between LASG and RTEAN resolved as union members return to parks

The lingering dispute between the Lagos state government and the Road Transport Employers Association over the leadership of the union in the state has been resolved following the intervention of the presidency.

 

This is sequel to a release signed by the National security Adviser(NSA) Nuhu Ribadu.

 

According to the National Security Adviser, the intervention by the federal government is in line with the memorandum of understanding dated 2nd October 2023 between the federal government and the organized Labour in its bid to facilitate peaceful resolution of the issues at stake.

He explained that the move was also in line with the present administration’s commitment to bolster industrial harmony and to ensure strict adherence to the rule of law.

 

With this development, the contentious issues according to the National security Adviser has been laid to rest and with the appointment of comrade Adesina Teslim Hussaini as the new Lagos state RTEAN chairman

 

He assured that the Lagos state office of RTEAN and all the properties seized will be returned back to the union,adding that no member of RTEAN will be victimized by the union or state government.

 

This statement from the NSA no doubt will with immediate effect restore operations at the various parks in the state by members of the RTEAN.
