Song leaves as Cameroon’s coach
Cameroonian soccer officials have confirmed that the contract of national team coach Rigobert Song will not be renewed.
That brings to an end his two-year stay at the helm.
The decision by the executive committee of the Cameroon Football Federation, or Fecafoot, follows a last-16 exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Cameroon was beaten by eventual finalists Nigeria.
Song, who won 137 caps with Cameroon as a player, also led the side to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
There they managed to beat Brazil – but exited in the group stage.
Fecafoot said the details of the recruitment process for new coaching staff would be announced in the next few days.
