Confirmed: Bandits kill two persons in Birnin Gwari mosque

 

Twenty four hours after the abduction of over two hundred and eighty pupils and students in Kirigu, Kaduna state, gunmen have again struck this time at Anguwar Makera in Kwasakwasa Community of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, during the Friday Juma’at Mosque.

Eye witness said the incident occurred around 2 pm, noting that the bandits opened fire on worshipers at the Juma’at Mosque, resulting in the deaths of two individuals who were buried at Old Kuyello cemetery.

The attack, the eye witness said prompted others to flee for their lives.

Recently bandits have been on a rampage in Kaduna, terrorising innocent villagers. This latest attack is coming few days after nine persons were reported abducted in Angwar Kanawa under the Kwasakwasa area.

Residents of the community are appealing for help from relevant authorities, expressing concern over the unchecked activities of the bandits.

This incident follows closely after bandits kidnapped over 287 students in Kuriga town, Chikun Local Government Area, less than 24 hours earlier.

As of now, there is no official reaction from the State Government or the Kaduna State Police Command.
