Suspended Lagos LG boss opens up

Jelili Sulaimon, Alimosho Local Government Area chairperson suspended over alleged misconduct has opened up in the development. 

The chairperson was suspended by the House of Assembly indefinitely for allegedly causing chaos in the community and misconducts. 

He spoke to The Punch newspaper describing the allegations of misconduct as “far from the truth.”

He stressed that the lawmakers did not follow due process in his suspension.

“We are students of the constitution of Nigeria. You know what the constitution says—the National Assembly has the right to impeach the President if he is found guilty,” he said. 

“Similarly, the state Assembly has the right to impeach the governor if due process is followed.”

The suspended council boss, he has always yielded to the directive of the legislative body.

“No matter what, when they call me a hundred times, I will definitely show up. And that is what I have been doing,” he said. 

“Yes, they wrote a letter to me, and I replied. I have all the evidence to show that I responded, and they received it.”
