Kunle Afolayan’s thriller Recall, set for AFRIFF premiere in November
Renowned filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has revealed the official poster for his much-anticipated movie *Recall*, set to premiere at the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF) on November 7, 2024. The psychological thriller, starring Sharon Ooja and a stellar cast, is one of the highlight films selected for the 13th edition of AFRIFF, running from November 3-9, 2024.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Lagos, *Recall* tells the gripping and emotional story of Goke and Anita, whose seemingly perfect love takes an unexpected and mysterious turn. Afolayan shared his excitement on Instagram, writing, “So excited to unveil the official poster for *Recall*… Stay tuned for the trailer and full cast reveal.”
AFRIFF, known for spotlighting African and diasporan talent, showcases a range of dramatic, documentary, feature, and short films. Since its inception in 2010, the festival has launched numerous critically acclaimed films, including *Breath of Life* and *Funmilayo Ransome Kuti*.
This year’s theme, “Africans for Africa; Building Global Bridges,” emphasizes fostering collaboration and expanding production networks, making *Recall*’s premiere a highly anticipated event in African cinema.
