The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has successfully concluded the collation of election results in Bayelsa State after earlier adjourning for an hour due to the delayed arrival of results from Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
Commencing on Sunday, November 12, 2023, the collation process followed the governorship election held in the state on Saturday, November 11. The pause in the proceedings occurred when results from Southern Ijaw LGA were unavailable, prompting the temporary adjournment.
With the awaited results now in hand, Prof. Farouq Kuta, the State Returning Officer, has initiated the final entry of the total votes garnered by each governorship candidate into the result sheet.
Having successfully concluded the collation, INEC is poised to declare the winner of the gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State. Stay tuned for the imminent announcement.
