The leadership of the Organised Labour in Lagos State on Thursday endorsed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the 2023 governorship election.
The open declaration for Sanwo-Olu was made at a mega solidarity rally held by the labour unions at the Police Training College ground in Ikeja. The labour leaders including the Chairperson of the Nigerian Labour Congress in Lagos, Funmilayo Sessi, and her counterpart in the Trade Union Congres, Gbenga Ekundayo, said they came out to so endorse the governor who is recontesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress because of his achievements and especially his labour-friendly policies.
The labour movement in the State also endorsed the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the model he instituted stood Lagos out as the best labour-friendly state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu in his response, described the workers’ endorsement as a gesture that would be reciprocated with more efforts to improve the lives of workers in Lagos if reelected in the March election.
