The Global Chamber of Business Leaders (GCBL), a coalition of governmental leaders, CEOs and executives across the world, has congratulated Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his emergence as winner of Nigeria’s presidential election held on February 25.

Tinubu, a former two-term governor of Lagos State and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the election with a total of eight million, seven hundred and ninety four thousand, seven hundred and twenty six (8,794,726) votes in the result of of the election declared in the early hours of Wednesday to emerge winner.

He will take over power from incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2023. 

“Allow me to congratulate you on your landslide victory in the Nigerian elections.  With you as President, Nigeria will surely turn a new leaf in its history,” GCBL  Chairman, Dejan Stancer said to Tinubu in a letter dated March 3, 2023.

Stancer says GCBL will look forward to closer cooperation with Nigeria under the leadership of Mr. Tinubu, adding that the Chamber “will also strive for an even stronger national chapter in Nigeria, which is excellently led by Dr. Abubakar Muhammad, as well as for greater integration of young people into special programs that operate within the framework of the Global Chamber of Business Leaders, such as the Young Business Leaders Program, or the World Future Leaders program, with which we want to connect young people from all over the world and encourage them with the experiences of the best global business leaders.”

Popular filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has revealed that a new project titled Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre, is in the making.

 

According to Afolayan, the upcoming project, a 4-part original series, will be available on Netflix.

 

Pictures from the movie shoot shared online showed old characters alongside new casts like Lateef Adedimeji, and Gabriel Afolayan, among others.

Akeredolu is alive says Ondo Govt

The Ondo state government has described the rumoured death of governor Rotimi Akeredolu as untrue

 

According to a statement issued by the state commissioner for information, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, She said certain persons seek to draw political mileage from the disinformation.

 

The statement noted that though the Governor has been indisposed,but he has been attending to state matters and delegating functions to functionaries of the Government, when necessary.

 

The government urged members of the public to ignore the rumour.

 

The statement added, “We have been inundated with calls and messages concerning the state of health of the Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON. We had chosen to ignore this wicked fabrication until it appeared that certain persons seek to draw political mileage from the disinformation.

 

“Though the Governor has been indisposed, he has been attending to state matters and delegating functions to functionaries of the Government, when necessary.

 

“We enjoin the members of the public to ignore the rumour. Aketi is very much alive.”

 

Also,a video released by the chief press secretary to the Governor, Richard olabode on Saturday showed where Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his family members were watching the final of the FA cup between Manchester city and Manchester United.

 

This comes after the news of the death of Governor Akeredolu making the rounds on social media.
