Osimhen and Iheanacho exit Super Eagles camp ahead of Mozambique clash

Super Eagles strikers Victor Osinhen and Kelechi Iheanacho have left camp ahead of Nigeria’s friendly clash against Mozambique.

The duo were in action for the Super Eagles when they took on Saudi Arabia on Friday; however, their participation against the Mambas is in major doubt, as they have had cause to leave the camp early.

What happened

The NFF put out an update ahead of the game tomorrow, announcing that the Napoli striker and the Leicester City ace have left the team’s base.

Osimhen was already in doubt before the announcement, as he forced Jose Peseiro into a substitution due to injury against the Green Falcons. He subsequently left the camp on the advice of the medical staff as a precautionary measure to avoid aggravating anything.

Iheanacho, on the other hand, left due to unspecified personal reasons.

Osimhen started against Saudi Arabia, while Iheanacho came on from the bench to impact the game, scoring the Super Eagle’s second goal of the game.

As Pulse Sports reported, off-field drama continues to plague Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who has been accused of using state agents to carry out an abduction by a user on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

X user @ositaokolo uploaded a video of an alleged abduction by men of the Nigerian DSS, accusing Osimhen of using the state agents to take his [Osita’s] wife, who also happens to be related to the Napoli forward.

According to the accuser, the abduction of his wife stems from an ongoing legal dispute with Osimhen, which is already being deliberated in court.
