Hilda Baci extends congratulations to Irish Chef for breaking Guinness World Record

Nigerian culinary expert Hilda Baci has offered her sincere congratulations to Irish chef Alan Fisher, who recently shattered her Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

The exciting news was announced by the Guinness World Record on their official Twitter account. In response, Baci quoted their tweet and expressed her heartfelt congratulations to Fisher, along with best wishes. She also conveyed her deep appreciation for the honor of holding such a prestigious world record and thanked her supporters.

In her words, “Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! Clocking in at 119 hours and 57 minutes is an incredible achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder! I’m thrilled to have held a record of such significance and will forever cherish the love and support I’ve received.”

On Tuesday, October 7, 2023, at 10:44 am, it was officially declared that Fisher had broken Baci’s record by an impressive margin, cooking for an astounding 119 hours and 57 minutes, surpassing her own attempt by over 24 hours. Fisher not only achieved this milestone but also simultaneously established new records for the longest baking marathon (individual) and the longest cooking marathon.

The previous longest baking marathon record was set at 31 hours and 16 minutes by Wendy Sandner, and Fisher now holds the record at 47 hours and 21 minutes. Remarkably, the Irish chef undertook both these records consecutively, spending over 160 hours in the kitchen with just over a day’s rest.

It’s worth noting that Fisher’s new records were achieved merely six months after Hilda Baci’s attempt, sparking inquiries from many Nigerians regarding the time frame required between record-breaking attempts. In response, the Guinness World Record clarified that there is no specific time frame stipulation, and records can be broken at any time.
