Dino Melaye vows to transform Kogi promises 'New Lokoja' in four years

Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kogi governorship election scheduled for Saturday, has committed to revitalizing the state and constructing a “New Lokoja” within a four-year term if elected as governor.

Expressing this commitment at the grand finale campaign rally in Lokoja, Melaye drew parallels with other global cities like New York, New Zealand, and New Delhi, emphasizing his vision for a transformed Lokoja.

“In four years, we are going to build the new Lokoja. Kogi is a strategic state, the richest in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Highlighting his background as a well-trained student of former Vice-President Abubakar Atiku, Melaye outlined plans to enhance the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for comprehensive development and an improved standard of living.

Asserting his qualifications as the “most educated, most experienced, and most exposed” among the 18 candidates, Senator Melaye urged residents to cast massive votes in his favour.

Former Vice-President Atiku endorsed Melaye as the most qualified candidate to lead Kogi, urging the people to support him to liberate the state from what he termed the “poisonous APC administration” led by Governor Yahaya Bello. Atiku called for overwhelming votes for Melaye on Saturday to pave the way for Kogi’s transformation.
