In a gesture of acknowledgment and commendation, President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, and Governor-elect Usman Ododo of Kogi State for their resounding victories in the governorship elections held on November 11.

Commending the active participation of the electorate in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa, President Tinubu highlights the strength of democratic institutions and the significant role played by the people in shaping the political landscape of the nation.

President Tinubu emphasizes that the election outcomes align with the desires of the people, underscoring that democracy flourishes when voters reward competence, transparency, and effective governance.

Expressing gratitude to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a fair playing field and the nation’s security agencies for maintaining law and order during the highly anticipated elections, President Tinubu advocates for continued efforts to enhance the credibility of future elections and sanitize the electoral system.

With the election processes concluded, President Tinubu anticipates a renewed sense of hope for the people of Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa States, urging the elected leaders to prioritize the common good of the people over partisan interests. He envisions progress that positions these states as hubs of peace, commerce, entrepreneurship, and prosperity in Nigeria.

In fostering a harmonious and inclusive political landscape, President Tinubu calls on the victors to prioritize collaboration with counterparts across party lines for pan-Nigerian developmental achievements. He concludes his message with a wish for their tenures to be defined by compassion and a deepened commitment to the unity of the nation.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, released the statement on November 13, 2023, conveying the President’s felicitations and hopes for the future.
