RCCG's ₦61 billion impact: Adeboye inaugurates Dialysis Center in Akwa Ibom

In a commitment to nationwide intervention initiatives, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), revealed that the church has invested ₦61 billion in various projects across Nigeria. Adeboye made this announcement during the inauguration of the Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Center at Immanuel General Hospital in Eket Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom.

 

Represented by Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, Intercontinental Overseer of Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) at RCCG, Adeboye highlighted the significant impact of their projects, with over 154 million people benefiting in the last five years. The newly inaugurated dialysis center is equipped with three state-of-the-art dialysis machines, a water treatment plant, and a 130 KVA generator.

 

Adeboye emphasized the church’s extensive efforts in establishing 1,200 functioning dialysis machines across the country, benefitting states like Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, Ondo, Bauchi, Borno, Anambra, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, and Abuja. The dialysis center in Eket marks the 27th in a series of specialized medical interventions by the Love Foundation, the charity arm of RCCG, focusing on Socials, Education, Health, Media, Business, Art and Culture, Governance, and Sports.

 

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, who inaugurated the dialysis center, applauded the RCCG’s contribution to health care and announced plans to establish similar centers in each of the state’s 10 federal constituencies. He directed the Commissioner for Health to ensure the completion of these centers by June 2024, addressing the need for accessible dialysis facilities for the people of Akwa Ibom.

 

The Commissioner for Health, Prof Augustine Umoh, stressed the significance of dialysis in managing kidney ailments and highlighted existing dialysis machines in Ibom Specialist Hospital in Uyo and General Hospital at Away in Onna Local Government Area.
