In a robust move to bolster the strength of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), the Ebonyi Command has initiated the physical and credential screening of 1,537 applicants as part of the ongoing nationwide recruitment process. Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State, Augustina Ogbodo, provided insights into the screening progress during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abakaliki, emphasizing the meticulous and orderly nature of the exercise.

Commissioner Ogbodo highlighted that the screening commenced on Monday and has proceeded seamlessly, underscoring the commitment to ensuring that only certified and qualified applicants are thoroughly screened. The ongoing recruitment drive aims not only to enhance the manpower of the Police Force in Ebonyi State but also to contribute to the national goal of fortifying law enforcement across the country.

While it remains challenging to determine the exact number of applicants screened at this juncture due to the ongoing nature of the process, Commissioner Ogbodo assured that the selection criteria prioritize the most qualified candidates. Importantly, the exercise is conducted without any associated costs for the applicants.

“The screening had been hitch-free since day one. It has been orderly to ensure that only certified and qualified applicants are screened. Yes, we are picking the most qualified applicants, and you know, the exercise is free,” explained the Commissioner of Police.

Beyond the recruitment endeavor, Commissioner Ogbodo reaffirmed the commitment of the command to maintaining a secure environment for the citizens of Ebonyi State. The call to action extended to all stakeholders, emphasizing the collective responsibility for the protection of lives and properties. The emphasis on security underscores the critical role of law enforcement agencies in fostering a safe and stable society.

As the nationwide recruitment screening unfolds, it marks a pivotal moment not only for the aspiring applicants but also for the future of law enforcement in Nigeria. The meticulous and transparent nature of the screening process serves as a testament to the dedication of the Nigerian Police Force in selecting the best candidates to serve and protect the community.

The exercise is scheduled to conclude on January 29, and the concluding stages of the recruitment process will likely involve further assessments and evaluations to ensure that the chosen candidates meet the high standards required for service in the Nigerian Police Force.

The NPF Ebonyi’s commitment to a thorough, transparent, and orderly recruitment process sets a positive precedent for law enforcement practices in the region. The success of the ongoing screening will not only determine the future composition of the police force in Ebonyi State but will also contribute to the national efforts aimed at reinforcing security and maintaining law and order across Nigeria.
