Nollywood comic actor Mr Ibu dies at 62
Ace Nigerian comic actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu has died at the age of 62 after battling a prolonged illness.
Mr Ibu was said to have passed Saturday March 2nd 2024 at a Lagos hospital where he was receiving medical attention.
The Chairman Lagos State Chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria(AGN) Emeka Rising-Ibeh confirmed the incident to AIT.
The actor in October 2023 went public to seek financial assistance to attend to his ailing health abroad; and well meaning Nigerians contributed to his medical appeal.
Unfortunately the medical doctors attending to him deemed it unfit to fly Mr Ibu overseas and opted to treat him in Lagos Nigeria where he had to undergo a surgery; as his leg was amputated.
Mr Ibu was known for his exceptional hilarious roles in movies that endeared viewers.
