In a heartfelt plea, President Bola Tinubu has called upon affluent individuals to extend their generosity to the less fortunate during the holy month of Ramadan.

NAN reports that, Tinubu made this impassioned appeal while attending the inauguration of the distribution of 140 truck-loads of rice donated by Senator Abdullahi Yari in Kano, as a gesture of compassion towards those in need.

Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Tinubu lauded the noble initiative aimed at providing support to vulnerable individuals during these challenging times.

“In times of hardship, true leadership extends beyond individual interests. It is incumbent upon us to rally together as a nation and extend a helping hand to those facing difficulties,” Tinubu emphasized.

The donation of 140 trucks of rice, bearing Tinubu’s name and image, by Senator Abdullahi Yari, serves as a beacon of hope for countless households grappling with adversity. Tinubu expressed his gratitude for the generous contribution, acknowledging its significance in alleviating the plight of many Nigerians.

“This gesture will undoubtedly alleviate the suffering of those in need, offering them a glimmer of hope amidst the prevailing challenges,” Tinubu remarked.

While emphasizing the importance of solidarity and unity, Tinubu underscored the need for Nigerians to unite in prayer for the nation’s unity, peace, and progress during Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Dr. Abubakar Danburam, representing Senator Yari, revealed that the 140 trucks of rice, totaling 84,000 bags, would be distributed to over 500,000 households in the Northern region. This substantial contribution aims to complement Tinubu’s ongoing efforts in supporting the less privileged and vulnerable members of society.

Senator Yari urged Nigerians to join in prayer for relief from the economic hardships plaguing the nation, underscoring the power of collective supplication during times of adversity.

As Ramadan approaches, Tinubu’s call for philanthropy resonates deeply, serving as a reminder of the inherent compassion and generosity within the Nigerian community.
