FG postpones launch of student loan scheme programme
The much talked about student loan scheme initially billed for launch on Thursday, March 14 has been put on hold.
A statement from the executive Secretary of the Nigeria Education Loan fund, (NELFund), Akintunde Sawyerr and signed by the agency’s spokesman, Nasir Ayitogo said the postponement is not indefinite. Although Mr Ayitogo did not say when the scheme will now be unveiled.
The statement said the NELFund wants to involve more critical stakeholders for a more successful scheme.
The statement also said President Bola Tinubu has approved all necessary financial obligations for the smooth take off of the programme.
NELFund said the application portal is still opened and urged qualified students to go ahead and apply.
