NNPC blames logistics for fuel queues

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has attributed the heavy fuel queues to logistics issues but insisted that it has been resolved.

Olufemi Soneye, NNPC spokesperson made this known in a statement on Thursday.

Petrol remained scarce on Thursday in the Federal Capital Territory and some other states in the North, forcing many filling stations to close shop, while the few ones that dispensed the commodity were greeted with heavy queues.

“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) wishes to clarify that the tightness in the supply of Premium Motor Spirit currently being experienced in some areas across the country is as a result of logistics issues and that they have been resolved,” the statement reads. 

“It also wishes to reiterate that the prices of petroleum products are not changing.

“It urges Nigerians to avoid panic buying as there is a sufficiency of products in the country.”
