Eighteen families of deceased NUJ-members benefit from Ramadan package in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Council of The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has distributed foodstuff and financial assistance to the families of deceased colleagues.

The occasion was held at the premises of the Kebbi State Television Service, Birninkebbi.

The Acting Head of Civil Service, Sufyanu Bena, and the Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, commended the NUJ for the gesture and called on the other unions to emulate the initiative.

The Chairman of the NUJ, Kebbi State Council, Hamza Galadima and the Zonal Vice President Muhammad Tukur, said the programme was initiated by the immediate past council six years ago, and sustained by the present council.

They thanked the donors for their philanthropic gesture and urged the well-to-do in society to assist families of the deceased and the less privileged, to uplift their living standards.

The presentations included those of grains, as well as financial assistance.
