Elon Musk, the company’s new owner and CEO, has humorously mocked people who have repeatedly questioned him about whether former US President Donald Trump will rejoin Twitter.

In a tweet on Monday night, Musk, who just assumed control of Twitter and fired the majority of its top executives, stated, “If I had a dollar for every time someone asks me if Trump is coming back on this platform, Twitter would be minting money.”

Many Twitter users and the media have speculated about the potential return of the former US President to the network since Musk took charge.

Following the Capitol Hill riots, Trump was labeled a “risk” and his account was permanently suspended from the network. He was accused of instigating violence through his tweets.
At the time, Twitter Inc. issued a statement stating: “We have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.” This was in response to recent tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and their context, specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter.

I am extremely delighted that Twitter is now in sensible hands, and will no longer be ruled by radical left lunatics and maniacs that truly hate our nation, Trump said on his own social media platform, ‘Truth Social,’ in response to Musk’s takeover of the social media platform.

Elon Musk announced in a tweet on Friday that he will establish a “committee” to decide whether to reinstate users who have been banned from the network, which immediately provoked outrage on social media.
