The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Eze Ndigbo of Ajao estate in Lagos State, Frederick Nwajagu, over a viral video posted on Friday where he had disclosed his intention to invite members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), to protect lives and property of the Igbo people residing in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed this on Saturday, said a team of police officers and operatives from the Department of State Security effected his arrest early Saturday.

The police spokesperson had earlier reacted to the video saying the police will not watch and allow such inciting comments capable of creating ethnic tension in the state.

Nwajagu is currently in the custody of Department of State Security.
